It appears that we are moving one step closer to a war with Iran. While Karzai and Maliki are trying to set up relations with their neighbor Iran, Bush is adding fuel to the war fire. This will be the first time this type of action will be taken against a foreign government entity.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The U.S. government is involved in intense discussions over naming all or part of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group in a move that would effectively declare “open season” on the organization, a senior official told CNN.
If made, the designation would come in the form of an executive order from President George W. Bush, the State Department official said.
Such a move would allow the Treasury Department to go after the finances of the group and those who do business with it.
“It would basically declare open season on these guys,” the official said, adding that the move is being taken because of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps‘ (IRGC) support for “all the bad actors” — insurgents in Iraq, the Taliban in Afghanistan and other terrorist groups in the Middle East like Hezbollah and Hamas.
The move is “three-fourths done but the devil is in the details,” the official said. An internal decision has been made to take some action, but there is still debate on whether to designate the entire IRGC or just the elite Quds Force.
“We need to decide whether to go for the sledgehammer approach of the larger group or the laser method of just going after the Quds Force,” the official said.
Asked to comment on the reports that the Guard Corps may be named a terrorist group, National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe would only say:
“It’s not appropriate for us to discuss potential future actions. We continue to urge Iran to play a constructive role in the region, and to stop providing support to terrorist organizations.”
Although most in the administration wants to go for the whole group, some want to tone it down a bit to soften the anticipated criticism from European allies, the official said.
For months, U.S. officials have contended that Iranian agents, from the Quds Force, are helping train and equip militants in Iraq and have been supplying armor-piercing explosively formed penetrators to insurgents that have been used against U.S. forces. Iran has denied these assertions.
The discussions come amid increased pressure by Congress to take tougher measures against Iran, including a possible divestment campaign. According to the official, the move by the administration could blunt any action in Congress which might tie the administration’s hands.

I hate to plug a Reich Wing rag, but, here it is. Rumors that BushCo is preparing a “terrorist” incident to enable their plan to put the US under Marshal Law are getting a lot of play right now. Be prepared for Bush to arrange some awful disaster he can blame “on the enemies of American Freedom”. This will be the excuse he will use to postpone or cancel 2008 elections and suspend the Constitution. A national crisis will be the distraction. He is counting on America to be enraged and vulnerable and ready to strike back at whoever is in reach. Bush will then become the righteous dictator of biblical proportions that he was told he would be, by those who control his mind. We will officially become his subjects – as we seem to be right now. All these Reich Wing warnings are seeping through the floorboards now, so they can stand proudly and say “I told you so”.

This crazy, arrogant, mega-low-maniacal, morons who are trying to grab and squeeze the last drop of oil out of Iraq, are creating multi-national populations of damaged souls and broken bodies.
I see a ‘mushroom cloud’ of hate spreading across the horizon that will cover all Americans whether they agreed with the war or not. No casualty really believes the American public is innocent, because this administration hides behind “the will of the American people” to do anything it wants. The “will of the American people” no longer exists … The more Americans are hated, the more King George claims “we are making PROGRESS”!

A government oversight agency has found that Bechtel National successfully completed less than half of the reconstruction jobs that the government hired it to perform in Iraq.
In a report released yesterday, the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction analyzed 24 job orders that Bechtel contracted to perform at a total direct cost of $761.2 million. Of those, 11 were successfully completed, 10 were incomplete, canceled or transferred to someone else, and the final status of 3 could not be determined.
“This is emblematic of the problem that contractors have experienced in Iraq reconstruction,” said Stuart W. Bowen Jr., the inspector general for Iraq. He said his office has found that 40 percent of projects in Iraq were in danger of not being completed under the original contract.
When Bechtal got scared of the locations for projects it was assigned, it walked away and left the equipment behind.
Bechtel started work on a new $24.4 million water-treatment plant in Baghdad’s volatile Sadr City district but did not finish the job. The company turned the project over to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after completing 88 percent of the work.
OK, things are too dangerous, but Bechtel was given a $2 Billion contract. Did they even bid on it? Did they have NO idea they were going to a war zone where “progress” is always improving and the poor restless natives love us? Shouldn’t that money be given back? What are we paying for anyway? Funerals, lies and bogus projects seem to be the only legacy I pay for from each miserable paycheck.
Army Major Faces Bribery Charges
An Army major is facing federal charges that in 2005 he accepted millions of dollars in bribes from contractors doing business with the Pentagon in Iraq and Kuwait.
The Justice Department said yesterday that the major, John Cockerham, 41, of San Antonio, either awarded or controlled the contracts. He has been charged with bribery, money laundering and conspiracy. He and his wife, Melissa, were charged Sunday. His sister Carolyn Blake, 44, of Sunnyvale, Tex., was charged Tuesday. His wife and his sister were charged with conspiracy.
Maybe I should bid on something undoable, show up, then change my mind and walk away with millions of your dollars. After all, our great executive complained it is “hard” to make important decisions. His imaginary friends tell him he is the chosen one and that he and god are making progress in Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s good enough for me. We’re already eating shit, I mean second hand groceries …

Pakistan hits out at U.S. terrorism stance
By Paul Eckert, Asia Correspondent: Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Pakistan hit back on Sunday at U.S. critics of its fight against terrorism, insisting its army was best suited to hunt for Osama bin Laden and other al Qaeda militants Washington believes enjoy safe haven in Pakistani tribal areas near Afghanistan.
Appearing on CNN’s “Late Edition,” an angry Foreign Minister Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri criticized talk of U.S. forces attacking al Qaeda on Pakistani territory, warning that any incursion would alienate opinion in the predominantly Muslim U.S. ally against terrorism.
“What I don’t like is the tone that I am now hearing and that I am now reading in the American media,” said Kasuri.
Kasuri told CNN talk of an al Qaeda “safe haven” in their country angered the Pakistanis, who have had 700 soldiers killed fighting militants in tribal areas.
“What we need is actionable intelligence” to tackle al Qaeda, he said, and reiterated his government’s view that talk of U.S. strikes inside Pakistan was “irresponsible.”
Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, a staunch critic of Bush’s war in Iraq, said: “I don’t think we should take anything off the table.” Wherever we find these evil people, we should go get them,” the Nevada Democrat told CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
Kasuri said U.S. raids into Pakistan would be a mistake. “When you talk of going after targets, you will lose the battle for hearts and minds,” he said. “The Pakistan Army can do the job much better,” he said.
Bush administration officials stress that they support Musharraf, who is struggling with a violent campaign by Islamic militants and a political crisis following Pakistan’s Supreme Court reinstatement of the chief justice after Musharraf sought to remove him.
This is a dangerous development for Musharraf. The Bush administration cannot shake off the bungling of it’s angry promise to “bring Osama and AlQaeda to justice” for the events of September 11, 2001. Bush claimed over and over that “we will hunt them down wherever they are”. Now, Bush is forced to consider dumping his ‘good buddy’ to the radical opposition and try to play catch up with his promises to America.
Bush got this country sidetracked, took his eye off the original ball to invade Iraq by weaving a web of deception and bungled the whole thing. Bush has covered lies with more lies and protected his deceptions with ‘executive privilege’. Bush has wiggled his ‘executive orders’ into a mesh of Constitution busting edicts. The fabric of America is in the hands of both houses of Congress.
Bush’s mantra that AlQaeda will follow us home is the most ignorant assertion anyone could make! American troops are ‘over there’ getting wasted while they could be here protecting their homes and families. Why would AlQaeda choose to attack America when we are LEAST vulnerable with our troops HERE? Logic would show that we are MOST vulnerable NOW when our protectors are deployed in a quagmire far, far away.
Is this country really buying this backwards logic?
Are all the ‘thinkers’ in this country becoming ‘ex-pats’ or buried into prescription ‘feel-good’ drugs? Those of us, who cannot afford the cost of escape, must deal with the situation at hand. Impeach, Indict or Censure – I don’t care, just do something!

FEINGOLD CALLS FOR CENSURE OF PRESIDENT, ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS OVER IRAQ & ATTACK ON RULE OF LAW
Feingold to Introduce Resolutions Censuring President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Other Administration Officials
July 22, 2007
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Russ Feingold announced today that he will introduce two censure resolutions condemning the President, Vice President and other administration officials for misconduct relating to the war in Iraq and for their repeated assaults on the rule of law. Feingold called the resolutions appropriate and necessary steps for Congress to rebuke an administration that is responsible for some of the worst misconduct and the worst abuses of the law in American history.
“Censure is about holding the administration accountable,” Feingold said. “Congress needs to formally condemn the President and members of the administration for misconduct before and during the Iraq war, and for undermining the rule of law at home. Censure is not a cure for the devastating toll this administration’s actions have taken on this country. But when future generations look back at the terrible misconduct of this administration, they need to see that a co-equal branch of government stood up and held to account those who violated the principles on which this nation was founded.”
Feingold is my hero! Go, go, go – Stop these MadMen who hi-jacked this country. Censure their butts! We have a lot of shit to clean up.

No other former president in the nearly 50-year history of the Fifth Republic has been questioned by a judge investigating criminal activities.
PARIS — A judge questioned former president Jacques Chirac for more than four hours Thursday in an investigation into a party financing scandal that dates to his time as mayor of Paris, his attorney said.
Mr. Chirac lost his presidential immunity from prosecution on June 16, a month after he left office. He has denied committing any wrongdoing during his time as mayor of Paris.
In light of these developments surrounding France’s Ex-President prior criminal activities, this country must have the resources to do the same to the Bush Crime Syndicate! Someone, please, gimme a legal take on what we must do to hold them accountable if impeachment fails!
Beware! Bush has a terrorist production in the wings to postpone coming elections! He is laughing from his ass now that the polyps are gone …

Now this is stunning.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President George W. Bush, under fire over the treatment of terrorism suspects, has issued new rules to ensure that detention and interrogation by the CIA comply with the Geneva Conventions’ ban on torture.
An executive order from Bush set out how to deal with detainees and gives interrogators from the U.S. spy agency new legal protections against allegations of cruel and inhumane treatment, forbidden by Common Article 3 of the conventions, CIA Director Michael Hayden said on Friday.
The Bush administration has faced pressure at home and abroad over interrogation techniques used on suspected militants at CIA prisons and other locations, including the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
“The order provides specific requirements that ensure a CIA-run terrorist detention and interrogation program would be in full compliance with U.S. obligations under Common Article 3,” Hayden said in a statement.
“The president’s action … gives us the legal clarity we have sought.”
The new order comes 10 months after the Bush administration was forced to suspend its secret prison system because of a Supreme Court ruling that cast doubt on its legality.
Fewer than 100 detainees, including suspected senior al Qaeda members, were held in CIA secret prisons over a period of five years.
A smaller number were subjected to what CIA officials describe as “enhanced interrogation measures.”
Critics said CIA methods included techniques such as simulated drowning that amounted to torture. The agency also had been buffeted by media reports that CIA officials refused to carry out interrogations for fear of legal liability.

Fears Exploited – Expect A Distraction
Watching the Main Scream Media news – I see the script unfolding. King George is building up to the inevitable crisis that will allow him to trump the remainder of America’s Constitution. Notice the headlines are focusing on AlQaeda’s new strength. All the ‘New Developments’ are designed to distract America’s dissatisfaction and anger – allowing Bush to ‘stay the course’ and suspend coming elections. Bush’s Armageddon Envy is taking us with him to destruction.
Just watch! Expect a major distraction coming soon! Bush will arrange for a ‘terrorist’ scare or attack to justify his final slide into dictatorship. Please prove my fears wrong …
