What’s So Special About Some In Congress?

Posted by nytexan on May 25, 2007

We all know that Congress fell far short of what we wanted yesterday. And for that we are all mighty pissed, and justifiable so. For whatever spin the “yes” voters will put out for their lack of logic, personally I don’t give a crap.

For Obama and Hillary who voted “no” after the bill was safe for passing, you both lost my interest. And, I don’t give a crap about your spin.

Below are two lists that I am far more curious about and just a wee bit more ticked about. I want to know what the hell was so important that these special politicians couldn’t bother to cast a vote. Are the Representatives and Senators so busy that they can’t be bothered with a truly important vote?

I really don’t give a crap if they voted “yea” or “nay”. I really don’t care if they are a democrat or a republican. What I care about is that their sorry behinds are on that floor voting. After all it is our tax dollars that are paying their over priced salaries, so the least they could do is pretend that they give a crap and do something.

Senators – Not Voting:

Brownback (R-KS)

Coleman (R-MN)

Hatch (R-UT)

Johnson (D-SD) (Stroke: Thanks Christopher for the correction)

Schumer (D-NY) (Lyme disease:Thanks Christopher for the correction)

Thomas (R-WY)

House – Democrats Not Voting

Howard Berman, California (Dist. 28)

Diana DeGette, Colorado (Dist. 1),

Eliot Engel, New York (Dist. 17)

Stephanie Jones, Ohio (Dist. 11)

John Lewis, Georgia (Dist. 5)

James Oberstar, Minnesota (Dist. 8 )

House – Republican Not Voting

John Campbell, California (Dist. 48)

Jo Ann Davis, Virginia (Dist. 1)

Jo Ann Emerson, Missouri (Dist. 8 )

Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Washington (Dist. 5)

Jerry Weller, Illinois (Dist. 11)

I will be watching this very special group of sorry politicians

  1. Schumer didn’t vote because he’s ill.

He’s battling Lyme disease having been bit by a deer tick. Johnson is still hospitalized. The others, I have no knowledge of.

Wow Christopher, I didn’t know that! Thanks for the update on Schumer.

  3. Yep, Kay.

They had a blurb about it on News9 Rochester yesterday. Schumer was in the Adironacks and he felt a sting and that horrible red ring appeared on his leg within an hour.

Lyme disease is very serious but treatable. I always worry about it with our dog because we have deer in the area but, our vet says it’s not a problem here.

I wish Schumer a speedy and complete recovery.

Thanks for setting the records straight on Johnson and Schumer. I was very disappointed when I saw Schumer’s name on the list. I wish him well.

Is Johnson the one who has a stoke or something right after the elections?

  5. A stroke.
