More Madness Of King George

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

Today Bush gave a speech in East Grand Rapids Michigan and actually told the audience that “sectarian killings have dropped in Baghdad”. Bush did acknowledge the 4 bombings in Baghdad yesterday, but he treated them as minimal compared to the progress he boasted about. The deluded king can’t stop lying.

Wait a minute, if sectarian killings are dropping, then why is Bush having U.S. soldiers build a wall to separate Sunni and Shiites. This concrete wall is a barrier as tall as 12 feet. This is the new strategy by coalition and Iraqi forces to “break the cycle of sectarian violence” in Baghdad. Doesn’t that contradict Bush’s speech today that those sectarian killings have dropped? If the surge is working then why are they building a wall?

Bush can not admit that he has a failed policy in Iraq. How much more spin can he and his staff put on this lost cause.  Bush is the worst president we have ever had. I feel the same way the Dixie Chicks do, ashamed that Bush is from Texas.

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

The main purposes of the post are the comments and our thoughts. I know comments are what we all like to see on our posts, but this one just has to know what we think.  Anyway please go to the site and post you comments.  It will be interesting to see what gets listed.

John Cornyn The White House Mouthpiece

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

In his interview with CNN (via TMR) Cornyn statedI think he should, because frankly I don’t think the Democrats will be satisfied by the resignation of Al Gonzales. This is, at its base, a political fishing expedition, and they’re not going to be satisfied with just Al Gonzales”. Was Cornyn asleep yesterday when more than one Republican on the Judiciary Committee asked Gonzales to resign?

Cornyn was Attorney General for Texas so he has a pretty good idea of what the head AG’s job description is. Cornyn has blasted Gonzales on the wiretapping, he has questioned in public Gonzales actions on the attorney firings, but now that it’s getting to the point that Gonzo has to go, Cornyn stand by him.  It is all about politics. Cornyn’s future in politics.

Cornyn is coming up for re-election in 2008 and he wants Bush support which equals money. It appears many Texas think that Cornyn is nervous about his chances of winning. In a Houston Chronicle article “He’s also identified as the administration’s most loyal ally on Capitol Hill, which could be an uncomfortable title to wear at a time of flagging public confidence in President Bush and the war in Iraq”.

Cornyn has a pretty sorry record in Washington, he managed to cut and under fund programs that the troops and veterans need and deserve. His voting records is less than stellar, Cornyn voted against: Reinstate Pay-As-You-Go through 2011 Amendment;  Natural Resources and Environment Funding Amendment; Education Funding Amendment; Investigating Contract In Iraq Amendment; Judicial Review of Detainees Amendment; Teen Pregnancy Education. I could go on but the list is endless. I have provided a link for you to see his full voting records Project Vote Smart.

So, it’s no wonder that mouthpiece for the White House would come to the aid of his fellow Texan Alberto Gonzales.

The Wisdom Of Vermont

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

The Vermont Senate today voted to impeach Bush and Cheney. Bush and Cheney’s actions in the U.S. and abroad, including in Iraq, “raise serious questions of constitutionality, statutory legality, and abuse of the public trust,” the resolution reads.

I love these guys.

It’s Friday Lets Recap

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

Let’s wrap the week up, shall we:

-We had the very sad event of Virginia Tech;

-Bush praying for the VT community while defending the NRA.

Yes our fearless leader, he is priceless;

-Gonzales in his never ending tailspin towards unemployment

Hechuva Job Gonzo. When Bush has full confidence in your job…well don’t let the door hit you in the ass;

-Bush and his “plucking, chicken” thing at an Ohio Town hall meeting Thursday:

“There are jobs Americans aren’t doing. … If you’ve got a chicken factory, a chicken-plucking factory, or whatever you call them, you know what I’m talking about.”

-Tommy Thompson…..campaign over for you Tommy

Speaking to the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington, D.C., Thompson said, “I’m in the private sector, and for the first time in my life I’m earning money. You know, that’s sort of part of the Jewish tradition, and I do not find anything wrong with that.”;

-John McCain and his rendition of the Beach Boys…bomb, bomb Iran

You’re so irrelevant Johnny;

-Rudy Giuliani slipping in the polls

And who is he slipping to? You guest it Bomber John.

-The Vermont Senate adopts a resolution to impeach Bush and Cheney. Big hugs to Vermont from Texas

Vermont senators voted Friday to call for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, saying their actions have raised “serious questions of constitutionality.”;

-Condoleezza Rice facing a subpoena;

-Paul Wolfowitz and his tailspin to unemployment

Wolfowitz girlfriend Shaha Riza complained that she was very angry and she felt pressured into taking the promotion. Do you think she was angry because she dated Wolfowitz? I mean who would be pissed at a $60k per year raise;

-The U.S. Supreme Court dictating woman’s lives

I want the Christian coalition to start adopting all of the babies they saved.

-Homeland Security crippled by the loss of the Blackberry network

How will they tell us the sky is falling?;

4 bomb blasts in Baghdad killing over 160 people and over 100 wounded

This is the place that Bomber John or my other name for him Bush’s mini me, said was so safe;

Does anyone see a GOP thing going on here? By the way looks like it’s been a good week for McCain he made it three times on the list.

Republicans Jump On Reid And The Democrats

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

The Republican Party has a lot of nerve to jump on anyone who publicly states the war is lost. Again like a broken record, the GOP saying that Reid and the Democrats don’t support the troops. Frankly I think sending the troops to Iraq without full protection, training, short leaves and not supporting them when they come home, as the Republicans have…..is not supporting the troop.

The GOP failed to say that Reid believes, as much of the public does, that diplomatic measures are needed. I am sick and tired of the GOP jumping up at every opportunity and pointing the fingers of blame on someone for Iraq. If the GOP is so compelled to point their fingers, they better start with the White House, the 108th Congress and the 109th Congress. Why doesn’t the GOP us their energy on something productive like diplomacy, compromise and bringing the troops home. Instead they choose to waist time, assign blame and become more disconnected from the American people. They continue take the divisive road of Bush, the most failed president in our history. It’s my way or the highway!

As we have seen just this week with the bombings in Baghdad, the surge is not working. Iraq is in the middle of a civil war. Civil Wars are a two party fight. Our troops make a third party, which puts them in the middle. I believe that “supporting the troop’s” means saving their lives by bringing them home. How stupid can anyone be to think that diplomacy should not be an option?

Here’s a history two questions for you: name one country that got involved in our civil war? Zero. Name one country that got involved in France’s civil war? Zero. Why is that? Because the third party in a two party fight always looses.

Bush and the GOP are so concerned about winning in Iraq they have completely lost sight of the human element. Oh they understand that people are dying, but their elections and legacies are on their priority list. So, good luck to you GOP because the color of your party is the color of what’s on your hands.

Pet Food Deaths For Profit

Posted by nytexan on April 20, 2007

Ok I generally don’t write about things that are not political, but the events that have transpired with tainted pet food is becoming very political to me. I am disgusted and appalled that the corporate world can not do a dam thing without it benefiting their bottom line. Let’s face it the pet food and supply industry in this county makes a ton of cash. Why, because we love our little tail wagging, non judgmental furry family members.

According to federal health officials, “imported ingredients used in recalled pet food may have been intentionally spiked with an industrial chemical to boost their apparent protein content”. Hence if something looks better and more appealing then we will by more. Which CEO or bean counter figured this heinous plan out. They obviously gave no thought to the effect the chemicals would have on our pet, like suffering a painful death.

I love pets. I have cats and dogs of my own, and the thought of a corporation filling their bank account at the cost of our beloved pets is disgusting to me. Am I pissed you bet! I am fed up with the greed and corruption that is all around us. If the corporate world wants to pick on me fine, I can defend myself. My cats and dogs can not. They depend on me to take care of them and I depend on the companies to do the right thing. Is that to freaking much to ask? I want Congress to do something. I want them to pass legislature that will provide the FDA with stronger and stricter guidelines for the pet food industry. I want them to tell us on the labels where the hell the items came from. By the way all of my pets are health.
